About the event
The Resonant Gathering
This nourishing day retreat invites you into a supportive space of healing, rest, and reconnection through the power of sound and presence. Together, we will explore gentle movement, vocal toning, sound healing, and yoga nidra as pathways to expand, embody, and to awaken our natural state of ease, balance, and vitality.
Join Heather Irene Smith and Dawn Sagonias for The Resonant Gathering.
Sound healing works through vibration to soothe the nervous system, clear stagnant energy, and realign the body and spirit. While gongs, bowls, and other instruments will hold and guide you, the most profound instrument is your own voice. Through vocal toning practices, you’ll experience how simple sounds—like humming, chanting, and sustained tones—can open the breath, calm the mind, and restore harmony from the inside out.
A Journey Inward: Mantra, Music, and Meditation
Heather Irene leads a deeply resonant session that combines the ancient practices of mantra, meditation, and music. We’ll begin by exploring the power of mantra, using sound as a vehicle to focus the mind and elevate our energy. We will then transition into a bija chakra meditation, a powerful practice that uses single-syllable bija ("seed") sounds to awaken and harmonize the body's energy centers. The session will be supported by the harmonium and live music, creating a sacred soundscape for you to rest, release, and reconnect with your inner self. No prior experience with any of these practices is necessary. All are welcome.
Yoga Nidra, often called "yogic sleep," will invite you into a deep state of rest and expansion. This guided laying-down meditation draws you into a healing theta state, where the body repairs and the spirit renews. Flowing seamlessly from this practice, you’ll be immersed in Dawn’s nurturing sound healing journey—a restorative hour-long bath of resonance designed to help you release tension, expand your awareness, and gently remember your wholeness.
Together, these practices will weave a tapestry of resonance—connecting body, breath, and spirit in a way that is both grounding and uplifting.
