A Little More About Your Guide
I have been in the Yoga, Meditation, and Wellness field since 2000, doing massage therapy, yoga, and sound healing. Using my extensive understanding of the mind/body connection, I aim to use movement, breath, and sound as a way to heal and empower the self, helping you feel more at home and at ease in your body and in facing life's mysterious challenges.
Fascinated by spirituality and music since I was a child, I grew up playing the violin, & I have studied the world's religions and new age philosophy, biofeedback, gong resonance & techniques, acutonics & tuning forks, harmonium and chanting, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, anatomy & physiology, the nervous system, and entrainment. Some of my favorite teachers from whom I have soaked up information like a sponge in person are notably Mitch Nur, Mike Tamburo, Mike Cohen, Yogi Amandeep, KateBeloved Levensohn, Mehtab Benton, Ana Forrest, Kia Miller, Saul David Raye, Mas Vidal, Jai Dev Singh, GuruCharan Singh Khalsa, Sue Beck Retuta.
Authors & teachers I have made part of my study are Caroline Myss, Louise Hay, Eileen McKusick, James Redfield, Rumi, Lorin Roche, Amma, Osho, Yogi Bhajan, Pema Chodron, Deepak Chopra, Oprah, David Whyte, Mary Oliver and more.
Travel is a great passion of mine to expand views and perspectives of culture and traditions. I always seem to find the spirituality of the place--like seeing the whirling dervishes and also the great mosques in Istanbul, Turkey, spending time at the feet of great sages and swamis in India & the Himalayas, visiting Muslim villages amidst the sand dunes of the Sahara in Morocco, tapping in to the wisdom of the Oracle at Delphi in Greece, learning lomilomi in Hawaii, and in Egypt meditating in the sarcophagus of the Great Pyramid, in the ceremonial passageways of the Isis Temple, and in the mystery school of the Hathor Temple. I've explored a good bit of the United States as well, and been to many yoga and meditation retreats, festivals, and trainings. Throughout most of my travels I have toted an instrument or two with me.
I have degrees in Biology, Spanish, and an MBA in entrepreneurship and marketing. I have studied biofeedback to see how different music affects the heart rate and blood pressure.
The road of discovery is endless — it all starts with a pose and a thought, and expands into a never-ending path of self inquiry and growth. I value each and every person who joins me through my offerings and we look forward to helping you achieve your wellness goals.
